Most house slippers are a flat piece of foam in a soft cover. Ours are a natural wool felt upper over the same cork and latex footbed we use in our leather sandals, leather-covered and contoured under the arch — so the pair you wear at home supports your foot as well as the pair you wear out.

Why wool, not fleece

Natural wool felt regulates temperature instead of just trapping heat: warm on a cold floor, breathable enough that feet do not get sweaty by the evening. It also resists odour in a way synthetic fleece does not, which is what you notice after a full winter of daily wear.

Slippers or house shoes

The slippers here leave the heel open — quick to step into, easy to kick off. If you want the heel covered for a colder house or a tiled floor, look at wool house shoes, which are the closed version on the same footbed. Everything is in the women's wool collection.

Arch support indoors

People who stand on hard floors at home — kitchens, tiled hallways, working from a standing desk — feel the lack of support indoors more than outdoors, because a flat slipper gives the foot nothing at all. The cork bed here is the same one that goes into the sandals: firm, contoured, and it takes the shape of your foot over the first week or two.

Sizing and care

True to European sizing; take the larger size if you are between two, especially if you wear thick socks indoors. Do not machine wash: brush the felt when dry, spot-clean with cool water and a little wool detergent, and let them dry away from a radiator so the felt does not harden.

Are these warm enough for a cold floor? Yes — wool felt over a cork bed insulates from below as well as around the foot, which thin fleece slippers do not.

Will they make my feet sweat? Wool moves moisture rather than holding it. That is the main reason we use it instead of synthetic pile.

Can I wear them outside for the bin or the post? Briefly, on a dry day. The EVA outsole handles it, but they are made as indoor shoes.
